Barbicide Disinfectant Wipes 160 ct are the pre-moistened, ready-to-use format of the Barbicide brand, sized for high-touch surface work between clients. Each canister holds 160 nonwoven towelettes measuring 6 x 6.75 inches. EPA-registered for salon, barbershop, and spa professional use.

Why Barbicide Wipes for surface work

  • Built for surface and high-touch wipe-down, not for soaking implements. Reach for these between clients on station counters, chair arms, headrests, manicure tables, shampoo bowls, door handles, retail shelving, and shared point-of-sale.
  • Pre-saturated and ready out of the canister. No dilution math, no spray bottle to keep filled.
  • EPA-listed kill claim per label covering HIV-1, Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV), Influenza A2, Herpes Types 1 and 2, MRSA, and VRE.
  • Pop-up canister dispenses one wipe at a time and keeps the remaining wipes moist between clients.
  • Trusted Barbicide brand backing, the same name many state cosmetology boards reference for sanitation rules.

How to use

  1. Pre-clean the surface if it is visibly soiled with hair, product, or debris. The wipe disinfects; it is not a primary cleaner.
  2. Wipe the surface with a Barbicide Wipe so it stays visibly wet for the contact time stated on the canister label.
  3. Let air dry. Do not wipe dry. The kill claim requires the surface to remain wet for the full label contact time.
  4. Discard the used wipe in the trash. Do not flush.
  5. Close the canister lid after each use so the remaining wipes stay saturated.

When to use wipes vs the Barbicide jar

The two Barbicide formats do different jobs and they are not interchangeable.

  • Use the wipes for surfaces. Chair arms, station tops, manicure tables, headrests, treatment table vinyl, and any high-touch shared surface that needs a fast wipe-down between clients.
  • Use the Barbicide concentrate jar for implement immersion. Combs, scissors, clipper guards, tweezers, and other reusable non-porous tools need to be fully submerged in the diluted blue solution for the labeled contact time. A wipe cannot achieve full-immersion contact on a comb's teeth or a shear's pivot.

Caution

For professional surface use. Not formulated to replace the Barbicide implement-immersion jar for tools that require full submersion contact time. Keep canister lid closed when not in use. Do not flush wipes. Discard in trash. Do not use on porous surfaces (raw wood, fabric upholstery) or on the skin. Follow the canister label for the most current EPA-listed kill claim and contact time.

FAQ

Can I use Barbicide Wipes to disinfect combs and scissors?

No. Wipes do not deliver the full-immersion contact time the EPA label requires for implements. Use Barbicide concentrate in a jar at the 1:16 dilution for a 10-minute soak. Wipes are for surfaces, not implements.

What is the contact time on Barbicide Wipes?

The surface must stay visibly wet for the contact time printed on the canister label. Let the surface air dry. Do not wipe dry.

What surfaces are Barbicide Wipes safe on?

Non-porous surfaces such as station counters, vinyl chair arms and headrests, manicure tables, retail display shelves, door handles, and shared point-of-sale equipment. Do not use on raw wood, fabric upholstery, or skin.

What pathogens do Barbicide Wipes kill?

Per the EPA-registered canister label: HIV-1, Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV), Influenza A2, Herpes Types 1 and 2, MRSA, and VRE. Always read the current label for the authoritative list.

How often should I wipe down station surfaces between clients?

Between every client, at minimum. State cosmetology rules vary, but the practical standard is a fresh wipe-down of chair arms, headrest, and station counter as soon as one client leaves, and a longer reset on the manicure table or treatment surface at the end of the day.

Do I need both the wipes and the concentrate jar?

Most working salons keep both. The jar handles implement immersion (combs, shears, clipper guards). The wipes handle high-touch surfaces between clients. Neither covers the other's job.
